Default Black Snow Flakes

So i gues the mesh that lines all the Vents, hoses and housing for my heat/Ac stuff has started deteriorating and breaking apart. So now anytime I have my fan blowing medium or higher black snow flakes fly from my vents and and defroster sprinkling my dash, interior and myself with a nice coat of what i will refer to as "snow."

Any ideas of how to get rid of all of it without ripping my dash completely apart. Ive tried to get some of the bigger peices but its never ending!

remove the blower motor and use an air line to blow out everything

Pull the cowl and vacuum out all of the junk that collects in there. I get leafs and other junk stuck in my vents every now and then.

Is it a foam like material? I know there is a thin black foam used to seal major assemblies in the ducting so they don't rattle.

I second removing the blower and cleaning it out.

That's the stuff they use between joints in the duct work to keep it from rattling. Sounds like it's just breaking down and getting blown out.

You think that would make it perform less. It might just be in my head, but it seems like its not blowing as hard now. Maybe its just from all the stuff in the way.
