Black sticky stuff
I am looking for the black sticky stuff that you see in door panels. I want to fix some rattles in my dash.
What is the proper name for this stuff? It is roughly the consistency of latex caulk but does not harden and is really sticky. I have heard silly names like 'gorilla snot' and 'black boogers' which are not helpful trying to buy the stuff.

Lol, back the day we used to go to wrecking yards to mine this stuff. GM had it loaded everywhere under the hood and dash for the AC system. It is basically cork mixed with tar. It turns out it was great re-usable bong stem sealer. If the government had ever caught on, they would have put a "Do not remove" tag on it like they did furniture and mattresses...
