blower motor issues; 96 XJ
the DPO of this otherwise excellent vehicle must have had problems with the socket and/or switch controlling the blower motor... when we first bought it, the blower would come on "HIGH" if the A/C or heat was turned on. I replaced the switch, but discovered that the actual pigtail was destroyed and the wires had been capped with quick connects, and *probably* hooked up to run default "HIGH" as they were arranged.... which is how I connected them to the new, operable switch. Which worked for a while, but wasn't used during a mild late winter and early spring... cue LATE spring and some real heat, and now the blower motor doesn't work.... I'm heading back to the pic-n-pull to get the socket and as much wiring as possible to *properly* connect the switch, but in the meantime, what else can I look for to remedy an inop fan control switch?

The '96 has a blower resistor block as well.
See the pic below for the wire connections at the blower speed switch.
