here is what I did;

remove the kick panel adjacent to the resistor pack

wire in 3 relays with harnesses. The resistor output for speed 1,2,3 will now each have a relay

Speed 4 (max), I could not be bothered ferreting into the system further so it has no relay. I do not use it. It probably can be relayed if one needs, but one doesn't, as speed 3 is sufficient

Run a 30-40A fused wire through a grommeted hole in the firewall. Label it

There is just enough space in behind the kick panel to zip tie 3 relays in place

attach kick panel, and no-one can see a thing (hence label the main power wire!)

Your ignition switch will love you long time

see one day your fan motor will begin drawing significant start up current, and all your wiring wont like that, I know there is a fuse, but I think its 40A, and when you add headlights, stereo and all the other electrical power, your ignition switch can get fried

I hope my description is clear, the old wiring just acts as a trigger for the relays, its pretty easy to figure out what you need to do

So I got an extra fuse box from the scrap yard, so I can do it right!
I built the wiring harness and now I'm just about done, but it 4 am and I'm utterly exhausted.

Any idea how far I may have to chase that green wire for the high speed?

No I did not delve into where it looks from the circuit diagram two DG wires must be joined

Let us know if you figure this out

I just remember not to run on max, but its not the ideal solution

Do you think I could wire that realy straight off of the switch harness?

probably,

if you still have easy access to the switch harness, just wire it in temporary and see if it works.

let us know how you go

Wish i had seen this earlier, here is a great thread for 96 and earlier relay installation.
