Blowing fuse 30A Eng. Ctrl. any and all help appreciated!!
92 Cherokee Laredo Automatic
Ignition switch already replaced.
I was driving down the road and the Jeep just died. I ran the fuses to find the large Green 30A Eng Ctrl 1 fuse blown, replaced the fuse and as soon as the key is turned it blew again. Checked all other fuses and replaced fuel pump relay. I glanced over the engine bay quickly. This fuse obviously protects the fuel pump because the pump does not come on with it being blown. It's now dark here and i'm out of time for the day to look over anything else. I'm trying to gather info so tomorrow I can get this issue knocked out. I've read over a bunch of threads just to see that the OP didn't return with what the issue was.
I'm wondering what all this fuse protects and where I should start with this issue.

Go to the Engine Performance diagram (I believe it's under Engine) and it will give you the wiring diagram from the relays to the ECU.
Usually the wiring from the relay is exposed and is either a) rubbing against another exposed wire or b) grounding to the unibody.
The diagrams are free.

I figured it out, unlike most, I'm going to report back with what it was.
My 02 sensor wiring was run incorrectly by the previous owner and had melted to the header. I pulled it away, taped all exposed wires up and ran them to the right location.

LOL you beat me to it! That is EXACTLY what happened to me recently and with the same results! Thanks for the thread as this may help others down the road. I know it left me on the side of the highway scratching my head
