Default Body swap question

Let's say one wipes out their Cherokee and it's totaled, bodywise. The uni-body makes it to where you HAVE to do a full powertrain swap to a new decent body Cherokee. That's the only downfall on these things. I was just wondering about this. My XJ is beat up, hacked up, and camo colored so I don't care. I can't even drive it on the highway, because 35mph is about it and the engine starts screaming lol.

Has anyone done this swap? How hard to swap the suspension, and how's the engine in there since there's no frame? Mines been boxed in also, fabbed frame on frameless rig.

The suspension swap would be as straight forward as installing a new lift kit. Just pull the old parts and bolt the new ones in. The drivetrain is fairly straight forward as well. Just make sure the new body is the same year or real close to it so there aren't a lot connectors and sensors that change. Take your time and label everything carefully. Take a lot of pics to help with reconnecting the wiring.
