would anybody know, if i have the dual diphram booster on my 97 cherokee (4.0 l). in comparison to my 87 and 89 cherokees i cannot feel a stronger brake.

here is the difference between a single and a dual diaphragm booster.

yours should have the dual.

the single pictured is for a yj, but you get the idea.

it is the dual diaphragm. so why does the brake have the same feeling? there is still not enough brake force.

did you have system open at any point, like bleeder nut or caliper/flex line replacement?
could have some air in there. check to be sure the bleeder nut on the calipers are above the flex line input.
and check the rear cylinders if they are leaky.

If you have ABS, there is a special procedure for bleeding the brakes on these vehicles, according to the FSM.

theres nothing "wromg" with the brakes, my wifes 2001 i like that as well. it is just that i was always planning to swap the new booster into my old 89 and now that i have the 97 with the new booster, the braking is no better. why is that. double diafragm = doubke braking force???
