Default Bosch 67658 Fuel Pump Obsolete

Hi Guys --

I'm looking for a little help on fuel pump suggestions. I have 130k on my 1997 XJ and have the classic check valve issue. I've lived with it for the past two years, but would like to fix it. After an internet search and calling Bosch, I've been unable to find any old stock Bosch 67658 fuel pumps and understand that the part is obsolete. In reading other threads, it appears that other have not had luck with Airtex, Carter, or Delphi and that in some instances, the Carter and Delphis appear to be rebranded Airtex.

So, my question is, what is the best option for me now? Should I take the risk of an Airtex/Carter/Delphi? Has anyone had any luck with a more recent install/can anyone speak to the quality of those pumps today versus 5-10 years ago when it appears as though they were having QC issues? Thanks in advance for any help.

Zach

Found that a little disturbing so I started poking around. Looks like you might be right. Some place say they have it but then it appears there is a problem when you try to order it. Autozone looks like they have one but it also looks like $80 more then other places.

Used Junk Yard parts are sometimes better than new Chinese parts.

Summit Racing lists it. I would call them and ask what is up with it or if it has been replaced.

I saw that but if you try to put the order through they are saying it is out of stock. But they estimate a shipping date of 8/29. Now will that actually happen........

Right, that's why I would call them. They are pretty transparent if they know they won't be able to get it in or there is some wacky tale of why they will usually give a solid answer.
