Default Braided stainless brake lines

I want to be able to fabricate my own braided stainless brake lines. Does anyone know of a way to make them without investing tons of cash? Wasn't sure where to put this but fabrication sounded like the logical place.

I'm pretty sure brake lines need to be dot approved. It may just be me but the $185 I spent on my braided extended lines was way worth it.

I went with Crown from quadratec but I got mine for a 6" Lift YJ because a YJ brake line runs about 3" longer then a XJ brake line when both vehicles are at stock height. So I now have a brake line good for up to 9" Of lift on my XJ. And they cost me less then 100 bucks shipped. And they are stainless braided and you can pick like 7-8 different colors to choose from.

Found a place that sells all the stuff but they have to sell you a DOT approved tester to test the lines and it's more than $3000

FYI. Braided stainless lines DO NOT provide more stopping power. Stock lines have a spectra/Kevlar braid in the middle and its just as strong as steel. The only way the old line will possibly affect braking pressure is if it is old and worn out. Plus side is stock lines are dirt cheap new.

I don't care if they are braided stainless necessarily, I would just like to be able to make my own flexible lines for convenience and custom applications.

Ok. You can get the hose from most hydraulic supply companies. They also sell fittings.
