IMO any type of welder will work. I used a 90 amp HFT wire feed and it worked fine. Disconnect battery before you weld, in theory you could fry the ECU.

Before you sink all that $$$ into welding stuff you need to find out what you have for electricity source. Small wire feed welders can be 110 VAC so you can use them anywhere. If you get a welder that needs 220 VAC you need a 220 VAC power source, maybe an adapter and extension cord which could cost as much as the welder itself.
