Brake Drum....
Hey guys. Did a brake job, did the fronts: rotors and pads. But in the rear, the old shoes has a cut in the middle, thus cutting into the drum. I didn't buy new drums because I thought I wouldn't need them. Well, those old shoes left a ridge in the drum. So, the new pads are the same, no cut in the middle of them. That ridge in the drum would eat into the new shoes.
What I'm done to, I need new drums. But, do I need a new spring kit and such? Any recommendations?

I JUST did the same thing 2 days ago. I put pads up front and went back to do the rears and found the shoes had 2 smaller pads on each shoe.
I definitely recommend getting a new spring kit every time you change shoes. Replacing worn springs is a good idea since you'll already be in there. I went ahead and reused my drums with the full size pads. The line on the drum between the grooves worn in them will wear away quickly and you'll be on a smooth surface in no time, provided you adjust the shoes correctly. I've driven about 50 miles and pulled mine to readjust the shoes and noticed that central line had already worn almost completely smooth.
I would go ahead and replace the drums. The only reason I didn't, is I plan to yank the C8.25 for a 8.8 in the near future.

The ridge will wear into the new shoes, you could potentially get the drums turned at a machine shop, that'd fix it.
