Man! I have checked several different suppliers and they all say according to part numbers I have them on the correct side. Cruiser54, when you say up do you mean from the front or from the back access hole? I’ve been talking about adjusting from facing the brakes with the drum off which is counter clockwise. I do know I’m confused!

Update... I spoke to two different drum brake manufacturers tech support and both said that the star wheel tensioner I have on is in it’s correct position. We shall see

looks to me like you have them on correct. When you apply the brakes the shoe will move outward causing the star to turn down towards you causing the the adjuster to expand to a slightly longer length which effectively adjusts your brakes.

Don't adjust it like me. Do it exactly like the book says.
BTW, after I did it wrong for a couple of days, I went through several cycles of backing up and coming to a complete stop which adjusted everything just right.
