Default Brake light

My brake light for the e brake came on out if no where today...tried lifting the lever up and down but nothing....any ideas what could cause this

Check your brake light switch also check where it hit's. A lot of times the little piece of rubber that the switch button hit falls off and cause the lights to stay on.


EDIT;
Sorry I'm an A$$. I miss read it and thought it was the brake lights staying on not the e-brake light.
Like Red82 said check your brake fluid. How do the brakes feel? When was the last time you had any brake work done?

It also turns on when your brake fluid is low.
