Brake rotor dust shield
Any advantage or disadvantage to the brake rotor dust shield? I know it will partially direct air flow to the rotor and help with cooling. Also, it will help keep debris off the rotors.
I destroyed mine a few months ago while replacing the hub bearings. Never got new ones to replace them and it has been a DD ever since.

Lot of guys don't bother putting them back on...in fact, there is usually not much left to put back on here in the rust belt. However, if you feel so inclined, the LH is P/N 52005477 and the RH is P/N 52005476 ...about $15 each at the dealer.

i always toss mine in the trash because i destroy them replacing wheelbearings too; and i removed the dust shields on the rear as well. never had a problem, but during the 'mudding months' down here i go thru brake pads every couple thousand miles. idk if thats cuz the shield helps keep the mud away or the fact that im hard on the brakes lol.

Thanks guys.
I tossed em when I destroyed them. Last off road adventure, I went through some mud and noticed the brakes were wet. I cleaned everything last week and the rears (drums) had some mud but the fronts were somewhat clean.
Out here in the desert, it rarely rains so I don't have mud to play in lol. Leaving them off unless I need them for an inspection or something, of which we don't have out here either

Alignment #4 today. After replacing the track bar, recentering the axle, adding bump stop plates and replacing the u-bolts... Slight steering wheel vibration at freeway speeds.
A complete steering replacement, this is the first steering wheel shimmy since the lift. It's not death wobble buy may be a tire balance issue, since the recent trip through the desert.
I have stick on weights, static balance (mounted in the center of the rim). Hoping the weights didn't fall off. Prefer these over the hammer weights on the side. I have ripped those off before and damaged rims on rocks at that area.

Alignment fixed the steering shimmy. Toe was out a bit. Still drifts to the right.
Made some disconnect cables for the sway bar. I didn't like the RC ones that bolt to the chassis. Got the idea from DPG and found everything at Ace Hardware by ny house.
Installing the SYE tomorrow too. Haven't done one in a while so this should be fun!
