Default Broken Odometer and Speedometer

I'm new to Jeeps and just posted here about a starter and fixed it no problem thanks to this forum!

I also have a broken speedometer and odometer.

i have a 91 4x4 cherokee, straight 6 with manual 5 speed.

It has an electric connection from the transfer case to the dash

I just pulled at least what i think is the speed sensor from the transfer case right by the drive shaft. again at least what i think it is the speed sensor i'm new to Jeeps.

It measures 60-80 ohms from contact to contact.
It measures nothing AC when I hooked a drill up to it.

My understanding of speed senors is that there should be some voltage and variation of AC voltage at the points when hooked up to a drill.

Should I be seeing some kind of AC voltage at these points when it's spinning. I pulled it an just have it spinning on a drill an hooked up to a meter.

Default

so i have the speed sensor out of the car and on my bench hooked up to a meter. that should do it as far as getting an AC voltage right? No other ground connections needed?
