Broken rear shock mounts
Prepared for what seemed to be an easy 45 minute job. Alas!...the bolts holding the upper mount were so rusted, etc they would snap off even a soaking of PB Blaster. (One on each side). Due to circumstances I had no choice but to drill out and bolt all the way through rear floor panel. Have I screwed up or is there a better proper fix to this. I do not have a welder, etc.

You will be fine. Just run the bolt through the top, and use a washer. No worries. just make sure you get the biggest bolt that still fits through your shock. Also, if you search for rear shock mounts, you will find the walk though for doing this. Not trashed, but loved the guys $50 offer... lol.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I punched out the broken bolt with my air chisel. The factory holes were not damaged. I then rigged my new shock bolts up with this fancy european bolt pulling rig. It's called 'wire'. Not sure how it's pronounced, but it sure works.
I then threaded the other end into the hole from the backside, pulled the wire through the hole, and viola. New bolts. Sorry for being a jackass. I've seen some mighty large holes cut into the floors of cherokees for no real good reason. Enjoy the pics.
I used welding wire, wrapped several times around the bolt. Point the wire in the direction you need the bolt to travel, this will make passing it easier. You can really pull with dislodging the bolt. Those europeans are smart fellas.
The other end. Amazing engineering.
Man my head looks big. Look at that forehead! I mean fivehead.

You are funny. lol. That was hilarious.
I used Dental Floss. The cinnomon flavoring. It helps get it right in the hole. lol. but it was really easy to do, and I had excessive amounts of dental floss around the house.

I broke all 4 yesterday. Punch them out and take some wire and wrap the wire around the threads of the by and feed the wire through the access hole and into the hole where the bolt will go. Then just pull the new bolt through. Punched and ran new bolts in al total of 10 minutes
