anyone figure out a better way for cheap shocks. i saw the site that the dude used the sway bar and mounted shocks that way. I have about 3 inch of lift and need shocks mine are way to small. Does anyone have or know any other options. Im reallly just looking to bolt new ones inand not have to modify. Plus looking for cheap shocks from autozone or osmething. Its only a trail rig so tryin to keep it cheap

Default I'd avoid blocks

FWIW - The PO who had my jeep before me installed a 3.5" block lift in the rear and 3" coil lift in the front. The front rides pretty smooth, not sure what kind of springs they are but they're pretty stiff. The part I HATE is the blocks in the rear. Definitely try and avoid blocks. I haven't tried them cuz I plan on getting a new 3" lift spring set, but I'm pretty sure shackles would be much better if you can't do a real spring lift. The problem is spring axle wrap. With old, worn rear leaf springs, the 3.5" block causes the springs to twist into an S when I stomp on the gas. I can feel the drive shaft get a little squirrely when it does this and I'm pretty sure it's real bad for the ujoints! When I let off the gas, I can actually feel the springs "unwind" if it's on pavement. The blocks give the axle too much torque on the springs. Shims might help correct this if you have to go blocks, but I'd try and avoid them. From what I've read the S-10 bastard pack will work much better, be less likely to snap something under load, and probably not that pricey from a JY. If you're adding leafs on top of a block that might help by stiffening it up a little, I dunno. Good luck!
