How do I recharge the A/C on my '96 sport? I want to put the dye in so I can find the leak before I take it into the shop. Thanks. Also what kind of freon do I use?

edit: it is a 134a system, and I'm pretty sure I know how to do it, I just want to make sure. Also the system is dry so is that an issue?

It's not freon anymore, it should be r134a. If you get the can with the charging hose, it'll only fit on the low pressure side of the compressor. Just follow the instructions on the can.

I believe there should be a decal on your compressor stating what type of coolant it currently is charged with. If it's not r134 it'll be r12 I believe

I believe the correct terminology is "refrigerant". '96 uses r134a refrigerant.

Thanks djb, I kept hesitating at calling it coolant, but the right word wouldn't pop in my head. Accounting and statistics are scrambling my brain.
