Default A/C Compressor question

Hey all!

First time posting (or using a forum for that matter) so forgive any missteps I might make.

I am replacing the compressor, drier, and expansion valve on my 1991 Jeep Cherokee. All has been pretty good so far, but I cannot find any information about the oil capacity for the compressor. It was manufactured by Four Seasons but their website has nothing about the oil capacity.

Does anyone know how much oil I should put in? Additionally, where should I add the oil? There was a port on the side marked for adding oil, but I'm fairly certain I will need to add it elsewhere since I'm replacing the majority of the system.

Thanks for all your help with past problems, and thanks in advance for help with this one!

Note the oil type is different depending on whether you are using R12 or R134

I normally add 1/2 to the compressor and 1/2 to the drier, but that doesn't mean I'm doing it right, lol.

Thanks for the info! This is exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully I can get my jeep back on the road this weekend!

Not questioning your ability at all here. But if you're going through all the trouble to replace the dryer, compressor, and expansion valve line. May I HIGHLY suggest you have a shop do the evac. and recharge so they can do a complete vacuum of the system before charging it. The reason for doing this is that the desiccant in the drier/accumulator gathers moisture. the AC machines will run a vacuum on the system for 30 min (at least) to remove any moisture before charging. I feel you'd be $ ahead to have the charge done at a shop and save the $ and time to do it all again.
