Default A/C Frustrations

I am was seems to be the never ending trouble shooting issue with my A/C. The A/C will not come on unless I disconnect the hi-pressure switch and jumper the wiring harness. Once I do the the A/C comes on (stays on) and runs nice and cool (albeit not quite as dry as I would think).

I've replaced the hi-pressure switch, the liquid line/ orifice tube, check fuses, and added new refrigerant.

Does anybody have any other suggestions. I am at my wits in on this. PLEASE!

if you are jumping the harness then it's the low pressure switch. perhaps the plug itself is the problem and not the switch.

I'm jumpering the hi pressure switch. Would that still mean that the low pressure switch is bad too?

no, if the low side switch were bad, you would need to jump it as well. do you have a set of guages you can put on it, maybe the high side pressure is too high and the switch is doing its job by shutting the system off.

Just off the compressor on the HP side.

If that is the case, you may have it overcharged and it is doing what it is supposed to do. Protect you from damaging the compressor

If u changed the liquid line/orifice tube, u opened up the system to air/moisture. Did u flush the evap & cond, add/replace with the correct amount of compressor oil AND pull a vacuum on the system (to remove air/moisture) before adding freon?

No, but frankly it was doing this before the liquid line was changed.

Nothing done to the system before the recent liquid line change?
