Default A/C problem please help!

AC blows hard and cold driving around town or sitting around. When I get up to higher speeds of 50+ the stops blowing all together when I'm accelerating, when I let off the gas pedal the AC immediately kicks back on blowing hard and cold. And ideas?

A/C problem please help!-image-4025400124.jpg

This is the only thing I can think of, 2 out of three of the prongs for the AC clutch are broken and it's been like that for a while. That's the only thing I can think of but I just can't see that cutting the air off completely when accelerating at 50+ mph.

Sounds more like a vacuum problem to the AC controls in the dash, but I would be fixing that clutch

Ok didn't think of vacuum but good suggestion. I'll definitely look into that.

Is your compressor actually turning off? Or is it just not coming out of the vents?

I'll second the vacuum lines that attach to different actuators behind the dash.

The compressor comes on and off like normal. Maybe I hit some vacuum **** when putting the CD deck in when I got it. Ima check it all tomorrow.

Did you check from the vacuum canister back to the firewall?

i found one line with a small crack in it taped it up and replaced the vacuum check valve. as far as i can see all the other vacuum lines seem good we will go from here and see in the next day or two if its still cutting out.

Remember if you hit the accelerator hard the computer will turn off the AC to give you needed power. I think our jeeps have that program in the PCM but i could be wrong.
