Default A\C question

I'm about to buy a 1998 XJ. I had 1 93 for a few months about 12 years ago. The one I'm going to look at has no A/C compressor installed. It was taken out about a year ago when it locked up. For those of you who know what items should I replace along with the compressor?

Accumulator for sure. Condenser too because it probably has the metal shavings of the locked up compressor which you don't want flowing in the new compressor. Probably the hoses too.

And you want to flush the evaporator core too, then test it for leaks before filling the system with refrigerant. Look up flushing evap core in youtube. Maybe find an AC shop to flush it for you if the price is reasonable. Then you can put all the parts together and go back to that shop to test it for leaks, vacuum it, and fill it with the correct amounts of oil and refrigerant. It is very important you get this right or else failure.

Thanks. I saw a kit that has 5 parts with it. I'll probably get that one. My buddy has the other required tools so we can pull the vacuum on it.

What kit? Be careful with ebay kits with no name manufacturers.

The amount of refrigerant should be marked on a sticker somewhere near the radiator.

As for the oil amount, check this link out

Where are you, by the way? Most owners are complaining about the heat not working now.
