Cam and cam bearing question
Hi all,
Long story short, I believe one of my cam lobes is wiped after a new lifter and head job. I'm trying to figure out where to go next. Is it as simple as taking the old cam out and putting a new one in? Or do you have to replace the cam bearings with a new cam? In that case I'll probably just get my shortblock rebuilt by a machine shop and put it back in. The motor has 185k on it and ran like a top before this. Other than eating coolant. Thanks

No to checking compression. I ran the motor with the valve cover off and one rocker is very loose even though still torqued down. It hardly moves at all up and down when the engine is running. The only thing is that the lifter is not pumping oil up the pushrod. So I'm hoping it's just the lifter. But I was thinking the not moving up and down was the cam.
