Thanks for posting the information on this! I've got a 1996 XJ as well and when I called the dealer to ask the service department what they would do for replacement they said "We'll have to call you back since we don't stock the whole assembly anymore". A day later they said they could replace the pump only. I think I will buy the crown unit and take care of it myself. Thanks again for confirming that this works well!

No problemo,
it's worth the dough, you just unwrap it and then plug and play!

Had to replace the crankshaft position sensor 3 weeks ago after Jeep broke down. Later that day someone smashed my triangular window to take my stereo. So October/November have already been expensive months for my XJ. That's why I'm glad to hear this part is a great replacement (so far). Thanks again, and sorry to change the subject. I just feel your pain on Crankshaft Sensor problems.

Did you run new fuel lines and replace your fuel filter too?
