Default can I convert a 1994 cherokee into a 1998 cherokee??

I picked up a beat up 1994 cherokee for $100 bucks. It runs great, so I decided to convert it into a newer model..I think all I have to change is a headerpanel and the fender flares but I might be wrong. And I also want to lift it...what do you guys recommend me doing...Can it be done?

What`s wrong with having a 1994 Cherokee? Even if you changed something like the fender flares it would still be just a 94 Cherokee with 98 flares on it. I`d spend my time, money and effort into just fixing what needs worked on so it stays running good and then maybe a lift.

I have the opposite problem. i want my 98 to have the front clip and rear hatch from a 94. Love the newer interior.

You would also want to swap out the fenders to continue the rounded look onto the body. The door would require extensive mods and fab work because the hinges were changed.

Berubeny, The hatch would also require extensive mods due the hinge mounting changes from the 96 to the 97 models. Up to 96 the hatch was fiberglass and it changed to steel in 97.

The 97-01 fenders have the rounded body line that the 96 and older XJs don't have. You can use the newer header panel with the older fenders but you will see a difference in how the body lines flow.

Nah, I would have to say the 99 is the best year all around. It has the better flowing intake manifold that hellps create more HP and torque.

thanks winston427... Is not about posing, I own a bodyshop I do alot of restoration and modification on antiques and exotic cars but I never dealt with a jeep..but I'm beginning to like them and on top of that I live in miami...it's useless having such a ride here. I want to play with this one ..my plans are to convert it, built the front and rear bumper, also the roof rack. Then lift it and add some nice tires & wheels
