Can I drive with a p1391 error
Hey everyone!
I just bought my first Cherokee and had the CEL come on 5 days after buying it. The error code is p1391 intermittent CMP/CKP signal. I already replaced the CMP and the error is still hanging around so I assume its the crankshaft. I ordered a mopar one today but it won't get here until next Tuesday. I was just wondering if this is a safe error code to drive on?
Thanks!

What determines whether any vehicle is alright to drive is whether it starts, runs & drives OK, any gauges read normal &/or no important (high temp, low oil pressure) warning lights are on. Absent any symptoms any diagnostic aids can be ignored.

Drives completely fine. I don't notice any difference after replacing the CMP sensor but it starts every time, no misfires, or stutters or anything. I'm only going to be driving it around town until the crankshaft I ordered comes in.

Default ATTENTION ALL USER: Please read before posting!!!To all users of CF:
PLEASE, before posting technical questions, take some time to help others out, by adding details in the user control panel. There's 2 ways to do this. First, in the upper left corner on the front page of the site, is a menu button labeled UserCP.
After you click on that you'll see this menu:
Please take the time to click on the highlighted sections and fill out the vehicle information for your vehicle. The signature link is also helpful for any additional information like mods done, links to your build or other vehicles owned.
This helps EVERYONE out by informing them immediately about your year, make, model, etc.
These details are necessary for responders to accurately answer your questions without guessing or having to ask what are the specifics of the vehicle you are referring to. You can add these details easily and permanently by creating a signature or adding your truck details to your existing signature.
5 minutes of your time doing this now will save a ton of time and effort later.
Thanks!!!

He was very determined to get it fixed, I cant recall if it generated a CEL light, which means a fault that needs fixing for Inspection
To the best of my recollection, it may have been a Cam sensor, even though he had replaced it, but i could be wrong
It is best to use Mopar sensors as those 2 are critical, and cheap repros known to be weak
