Default Can a new transmission mount cause a loud noise ?

Quick details, 1996 XJ, 4dr, 4.0, auto transmission, 4WD.

The XJ was having the exhaust pipe rattling against the transmission or around the tranny in the mount area. So since I had new engine mounts that are only a couple months old, I replaced the transmission mount. It eliminated the exhaust rattle but caused (I believe) an awful vibration that starts at start up and continues for about 10 to 15 minutes of driving and then disappears (as it warms up?) I changed the mount about the same time I replaced the heater core, and replaced the floor pan so I had not driven it in about 2 months. I don't recall it having the vibration before. So I am thinking about replacing the "new" tranny mount with one from the local junkyard in a effort to eliminate this vibration.
So I am posting to bounce my story off the forum and see if it sounds practical or not.... Thanks for your thoughts!

I won't be able to do anything until I return from a trip around the 24 or 25th of the month.

I used Napa transmissions mounts for my 99 and 94. It is not worth the effort to pull an old mount from the junkyard.

Do not use the Anchor brand, they cause the exhaust pipe to hit the crossmember.

Inspect the exhaust for clearance, especially at the rearmost exhaust mount.

Anchor brand mounts suck!!

Just to update, been back for a while but have been too busy with other stuff to get after the XJ. I visually checked the flex plate, but after reading a bunch of "cracked" stories on the forum I may do it again.

I did find a bolt missing, not sure if it fell out or if I didn't put it in when I installed the engine. Anyway, got some new bolts as I wanted to replace the other side bolt as well (these were the 7/16 x 3" bolts). Just got them tightened down and took the XJ
for a quick spin and saw that it solved a bunch of issues....vibration, noise, etc. I have to go work at the creek house for a few days and will start doublechecking things and torqueing down the bolts I installed when I return.

You know it never fails that I can see a bunch of threads on just about any topic and learn something. I appreciate all the posts on the forum because of that! Take care of your XJ, I can't wait to get a couple more items straightened out on mine. Maybe I will get the AC fixed before summer is done with us??
