Can warped rotors cause front wabble at high speeds?
I have a 00' cherokee and have established my rotors are warped, and at speeds over 65 i start to feel a shake in the front end. My calibers are sticking, so i was planning on replaceing them along with the brake pads. My machanic told me my front end wabble was due to my rotors. At the same time i got an alighnment which didnt improve the situation. Does this make sense to anybody that its due to the rotors? I assume it's possible but wanted some other opinions.
thanks
thanks

your rotors may be warped but a high speed shimmy sounds more like a tire being out of balance... do you get the shimmy while applying the brakes stopping from 65mph or just when you are cruising at higher speeds?

Why not trust the Mechanic? Warped rotors can cause your issue. You need to have them turned or replaced. Don't over torque the lug nuts if by chance someone has that can warp the rotors.

I have a '01 Cherokee and applying the brakes from 55+(say on the off ramps) make my front end shimmy. It almost feels like a "Whom, whom, whom....But real fast.

X2 siezed caliper pins and warped(rotors out of parrellelism) will cause a vibration.. Shimmy from tires will abate after 55mph, static imbalance begins at 40mph and ranges depending on tire type and size up to 55mph, after that the laws of physics takes over and tire imbalance is minimized...In other words a shimmy after 55 mph is not tire balance
he should still address the warped rotors and calipers but the balancing should be checked as well.

The rotors were the cause of my shake after getting the tires balanced acouple of times (waste of money).
Do not get your rotors turned down that is another waste of money for acouple of dollars more get the new rotors. They will have a warrenty that you will not get with turned rotors.

Shimmy due to out of balance wheels usually starts at about 55 mph and will continue to about 65 mph then starts to lessen after that. Warped rotors, a frozen caliper or caliper bolts will usually cause a pull or pulse when applying brakes.

If you have a seized caliper its going to do more than shimmy, its going to heat up and start to smoke. You can check to see if the rotor's are warped, take them off and put them on a flat table and see if they are perfectly flat.
