Next time you hear it, shut the engine off, wait 10 seconds and restart. Noise gone?

Yes. I’ve recently replaced pilot bearing, flywheel and clutch if that matters.
I just went to start it and the starter was loose. Looks like the bolts are too short and stripped out the threads. The bell housing one looks salvageable but the starter one is no bueno. Don’t know if this has any relation.

The 2 bolts for the starter.

One is metric. One is SAE.

Perhaps they got installed opposite?

I hope I’m not that dumb. 😩. Here are the bolts that came out. The finer thread 14 mm bolt was on top and the coarser thread on bottom.

Ones a 14mm ones a 17mm.

I don't remember any starter bolts being 17mm head.
Taxing my memory here, but I think the SAE bolt, 9/16" head.
Metric bolt, 15mm head?

Default Starter is fixed. Noise still there

Starter is in with longer bolts. Noise still there though. I took another video of the noise. This time I revved it up to show how it goes away after.
