I heard they can fuse together and I might want to buy new? Also what's the best granny fluid and filter to get? Also need to conver rear drums to disk any help would be appreciated. So need new transmission pan, dipstick, transmission fluid and filter.... can anyone help? 1998 Cherokee with 230k miles. Will get lifted and will be a pavement princes but modified pretty good to say the least hopefully.

The "filter" is just a mesh screen and usually doesn't usually need to be changed. If you have it apart, you can just douche it out with brake cleaner. If you do drop the pan and can't separate the tube, just drop them both together.

I dunno what fluid your granny likes (mine liked coffee) but the AW4 automatic takes Dexron III - not ATF4+ despite what Chrysler insists, because it's not a Chrysler transmission. Easy on the torque when you reinstall the pan unless you like stripped aluminum threads. 5 ft-lbs.

Just do the recommended drain and fill on the transmission using the above mentioned fluid. Buy 4 quarts from the store. Leave the pan alone. screen also. And a dipstick?
I have no clue where people come up with that kind of bull****.
