Can you read the damage? (8 pics)
You're looking at a 96 XJ that I might buy. I'm concerned though because I'm not sure how much damage the front end took and I wouldn't know what I was looking at to determine if the frame was tweaked. So, I'm asking you fine fellas to chime in.
The seller (reliability in question for obvious reasons) stated that she was in Denver and slid into a wall at low speed although she didn't give a number. She claims that she has driven the vehicle in this condition for two years and has noticed no issues. Also, all lights reportedly work without issue.
What are your thoughts...minor damage to plastic pieces that make the bump look more severe, or disaster in the works?
Thanks for your help

As you can see, the damage is all on the front right light cluster and fender. I guess there is minimal damage on the hood too but the seller didn't send photos of that.
Please weight in. Thanks,

Hard to tell from those pictures....if you had a shot of just the entire front end, that would be better.
From that last shot, it appears that most of the damage is above the bumper. If this is the case, this is very good, as that means "the frame" will still be good.

i think that you can get all those parts for pretty cheap and you can do everything from your house. i bought a jeep that was in a front end collision and the frame is tweaked alot but all the parts fit right back on it. if you think its a good deal go for it

Well she is willing to go down to $1350 for her 96 SE with 150k. The options are rear defrost, cruise, power steering, A/C, aftermarket CD player, amp and wiring for subs, professional window tinting, and a manual trans. The interior is supposedly pretty dirty because of kids, but there are no tears or damage. She said is runs great and the 4wheel drive is strong too.
In the pics it appears that the dash does not set flush and on the exterior I'm not sure what that wiring is for that comes out of the hood and back into the passenger door area (can you see what I'm talking about?). There is also a lot of rust on the hood and fading on the rear hatch, but I don't see any rust on the rockers.

well ill give you an idea of my front end damage. the drivers fender was almost touching the frame and it only cost me 483 dollars for them to pull and straighten it but i pulled all the fenders and hood off. I bought a complete front end for like 100 dollars. I have a whole post on the damage and estimates. Yours shouldnt be anywhere near mine tho.

Front end damage is the only body work I'm intersted in doing- it all bolts together, then a quick trip to the paint shop! Looks like an easy repair there, with minimal dollars invested.
Just kinda wondering....just HOW dirty is said interior? Tell you'll give her 1,350 if she cleans it. Some people are willing to negotiate a trade in work to keep the price where they want it.

Well it is a Unibody not a frame for starters. lol
The bumpers on these are not made stout so it doesn't take much to bend them in. But I would say you are getting a GREAT price for a 96 with around 150k on it. I mean 1350 that is a steal. Get it before someone else does.
