If it's shot, it will look deteriorated (cracked) or out of center. One of mine looked like mush; bulging out. The other looked like it was cracked to pieces. I put energy suspension mounts in place.

Your getting the noise in drive and reverse gears that two different directions motor torques. Hearing the noise will really help us help you ?
