And also I put new cap rotor and wires on it today from napa and this time engine light came back on right away."it's been on before" but when I reconnect the battery and drive usually it takes almost a day to come back on.

Also did not put new plugs in yet only replace those 2 in the pic with others I had that were a bi better all champions.

Waiting for my NGK plugs tomorrow

Make sure your leads are reconnected in the correct sequence. Double check.

And yes, have you checked the CEL yet!?

Cel? And btw my engine light went off after I drove more on the highway it's not missing around 45mph like it was but it is still running rough at idle and shaky at stop lights. Also the plugs have not been changed yet I am doing that today and sequence you mean the correct order they are in? If so yes I can take a pic today and show you.

Double check all the wire connections at the cap.

Here's the firing order: 1,5,3,6,2,4 in a clockwise direction.

Here's where #1 should be:

Can't see from your pic whether you connected them correctly or not.
But no, it can't hurt them touching like that, as long as the insulation is all in good shape.

Try to get your jeep checked for codes (The CEL is what we mean with the check engine light being on). That light tells you the PCM has detected a fault of some kind and reading out the codes can give you the answer to your question whats going on. I understand part stores in the US do a reading for codes free of charge.

I think night distributor could probably be turned a bit and I do know my manifold gasket is basically dry rotted could that cause misfires? I'll take a better pic if the distributor

Why would you want to turn the distributor? Making another pic will likely not makes things more clear. You have to check the leads and make sure they are connected correctly.

As long as your cap is screwed on tight and the leads are connected correctly, don't worry about that.
