Morning all-

I recently had to change out my turn-signal stalk/multifunction switch as my original one had bit the dust. I purchased the new one and got it all installed, but could not figure out how it was originally routed into the steering column. I tried several different ways of routing the little cable into the column and the only way that didn't cause interference with getting the steering wheel bracket, turn signal switch, etc., when putting it back together was this routing. However, I've already noticed that when using it to indicate a right turn, the turn signal stalk is forcing it to hit the steering column trim and it's biting into the wire sheathing. This is the same thing that happened to the old one (which had already been cut through when I got it). I just can't believe that this is the way it was designed to be routed by the factory engineers. I've scoured the web and other Jeep forums and I haven't been able to find anything that talks about this particular issue. Does *anyone* know the answer? How am I supposed to get this little cable down into the column without causing this interference?

Thanks a bunch,

-Matt

Here's mine. I had to take my column apart to tighten the tilt bolts. I didn't disconnect the cruise harness.

You might just want to pull a bit more out to make a bigger loop.

Mine is under as well. I took photos a while back so I would route the wires back the way they came out. It would be more helpful if you could see the black wire, but it must be behind the rest of the bundle.

This photo is hard to decipher. I believe it is the back side of the first piece removed behind the steering wheel itself. It contains the turn signal stock's molded protrusion. It appears the wire bundle is in front of the black plate and the black wire is behind it.

Gentlemen,

Thanks so much for all the input and help - I apologize for the delayed response; I had a heckuva busy week. I look forward to diving back into it this weekend and will *hopefully* get it routed properly this time around.

S/F,

-Matthew
