Default carb swap

I want to replace my carb from my 2.8 v6 with a new one.
I beleive it is an rochester 2bl type e2se.
Should i replace it with an original one or something like weber or edelbrock or anything else?
Anyone who can give me some advice.

Just bolt it on and drive? Or do I have to adjust the carb?

Everything should be a straight forward bolt on. You will have to do an initial idle set though on the carb and possibly a cold idle set. There should be 3 or 4 screws. One for cold idle, one for warm idle, one for fuel air mixture, and possibly one for the AC idle when you crank the AC on if your truck is equipped with AC. Also there should be 2 vacuum lines iirc that will pretty much have to be connected. First one is the timing advance vacuum line and the second is the fuel pump pressure line.

I did the Weber swap on my 84 with the 2.8 it was fairly simple, but did need tuning. It comes with decent instructions though so tuning isn't bad. I had a problem that one of the carb mounting nuts will not fit because of the adapter plate. I got the Weber 38DGES. If you have any other questions let me know I'll be happy to help!
