Cassette Adapeter Issue
Obligatory new here statement. Before I joined I search for answers to multiple questions I had regarding my 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 6 cyclinfer, 2-wheel-rear-wheel drive jeep. So, here I am.
The most frustrating issue I am having right now probably Ian the R.E.M. Keep specific. For the last six months or so, my trusty cassette adapter has started acting up. My cassette drive(?) itself keeps rejecting the adapters. It will try to play it, act like its switching sides, and then eject. I went out and bought two more adapters thinking it was just my original one acting up. I googled generic solutions for this issue, being directed to YouTube showing me how to clean the cassette and remove a piece that isn't really needed. No luck.
I've now turned my hopes to this forum looking for a DIY solution since I do not have the funds to buy and install a new system. I just cannot drive 2k miles across the country again with out a decent music solution. My Bluetooth speaker just doesn't cut it.
Thanks in advance.

Damn. If that is the worst problem you have in your Jeep, you are is really good shape .
I use one of these in my Audi and my Wrangler:
Works really well and has good quality sound. Hard to beat for under $20.
Should be much easier than dealing with a cassete adapter. I tried one for awhile and gave up.

And speaking of more issues, I don't get am or fm signal. As much as I want that Bluetooth adapter thingy, it won't work. :/

If you don't get AM or FM then it sounds like your antenna is unplugged. I'm sure the google will have an answer for removing the radio to check the antenna connection. Beyond that, I got nothing.
