That sucks man. I would say just get a couple clamps and a straight pipe. Buy a good CAT and store in the garage and put it on only for inspections then put the pipe back on.

True, you could pay to have this done and it gets stolen again. In my area a shop will not install an exhaust that violates emissions regulations for that year, even on an emissions exempt vehicle.

I got a 49 state cat from Magna Flow. Don't remember the price, but the kali version was another 100 bucks.

I once stopped by my local yard and asked them if they buy dead CATs. The kid at the counter had no idea what I was talking about and looked at me as if I was Dexter and he had walked in on my plastic room. I had to explain to him about crank triggering and double firing injectors and carbon plugging of the CAT matrix. At that point he looked at me like I was Einstein explaining accelerating frames of reference to a three toed sloth. I left. Still have the dead CATs.

So there is at least one yard in the country that doesn't help theives launder money.
