I mounted my amateur radio inbetween my sunvisors above my rear view mirror. I got the idea from some members on here, and liked it enough I used it.

I have my antenna mounted on the front drivers side. I just used an antenna mounting L bracket.

Another CB option I don't see quite often, but still a better option is get an NMO mount setup (drill a hole in the roof, get a L-bracket or one of those Diamond clip mounts) then get a Larsen NMO27. Its I what will be doing once I get another NMO assembly so I can have VHF/UHF on one antenna for ham work, 900 mhz for ham stuff, and the NMO27 for CB.

Im running a Larsen 2/70 NMO mount antenna on my HAM radio, and running a Yaesu 8800 for my radio. I just used the L bracket to mount on the front driver side inbetween the hood and body crack, and the radio above my rear view, had no problems. Also have a magnetic mount for my antenna if I wanna switch it up.

I used to have an L-bracket on my old Honda Passport only because it was a pain to anything else on the that beast.

However, my new XJ here because it came from the US Gov't, it has two nicely placed NMO holes on the roof so it was real easy.

the best antenna mount i've ever seen was mounted in the stock radio antenna spot on top of the passenger front fender. not sure what site i saw it on, anyone know? the guy then got a hidden antenna for his stereo.

has anyone ever drilled a hole in the stock rear bumper and mounted a fire stick through it? the mounts that hang off the side of the jeep look prone to getting ripped off to me... ide love to see a pic of that.

I like how I put my cb antenna on the stock radio antenna location myself. I am going to get another stock radio antenna base, and fab it to look OEM on the driver side fender and run another identical cb antenna, one for my radio and one for my cb..

It was quite a tough decision on where to mount the antenna, but I found this a pretty good spot. I removed some of the plastic trim covering the boot pillar and it was easy enough to feed the antenna cable down the inside of the pillar and then out a fairly large opening at the bottom of the pillar at the boot floor level, from there it was easy enough to route under the trimming all along the side and up under the passenger footwell by the glove box to the unit.
Offcourse mine is a rhd so everything would be opposite to yours
what kind of cb is this in the pitcher
