Default CEL comes on then after a few days it goes away ?

Okay so I get the cel code p0302 misfire in cylinder 2, had this **** for the longest time cant seem to figure out what is wrong with it. Changed spark plugs, injectors, distributor cap and rotor, did compression test and it came out fine.

Iv been reading and it says that code means it also could be the oxygen sensor which is weird i would think there be a different code for that or a defective computer. Im thinking maybe it is a ground problem. Since the check engine light comes on and then sometimes stays on and sometimes it goes away after a few days. I think after like 25-50 cycles the cel will clear but theres no way I did it that many times. Also my cluster panel has the ground problem where its on but sometimes it will not show anything and the airbag light is on then gotta hit it under the steering column to get it working lol.

Anyway any tip on what to check, I was thinking of doing a fuel pressure test just to make sure thats good and then doing a test on the injector wiring and then finally do a leakdown test.

Clean up the connectors on the back of the instrument cluster.

Did you change the plug wires too? Check the injector harness and plug for #2?
p0302 has nothing to do with the O2 sensor, there are separate codes for that.

Agree with Radi on this.

1. I didn't see any mention of the spark plug wire. Gotta swap that out and rule that in or out before moving on.....

2. This is assuredly not an oxygen sensor issue. No relationship.

There can be a relationship, if the o2 is lazy I have seen it cause misses on Jeeps. Now that being said, I would triple check that you have adequate spark coming out of #2 wire. Fuel pressure, and that the injector is firing, if all that checks out, swap #1 and #2 injectors see if it moves, if not then you are back in the same boat. A leaking intake gasket can also cause this, but it should set lean codes... just something to check on...

Also, (temporarily) swap the injector wiring between #1 and #2 to see if the misfire stays or moves.

Using champion copper spark plugs the plugs are fine. And yeah i was thinking bout switching the injector wiring but i was not sure if i can do that wont that mess up the firing order ? How do i test the injectors so i kno they are opening st the right times cuz it could be an electrical problem.

It will be fine for testing purposes. Think of earlier FI systems, which were "batch fire" (all injectors fired at once). Maybe not quite as efficient as a sequential system, but they ran just fine.
