Default CEL Reads TPS circuit high circuit low

Purchased a jeep XJ a couple of months back and it rode smooth with the exception of a feeling of surging or bucking on the expressway while accelerating. The CEL was on and the seller said all it needed was a new TPS. after reading online I decided to go with an OEM one ($80) instead of the $30 autozone one. Installed it and the CEL stayed on. Took it to autozone to get another diagnostic and its reading exactly the same. Any ideas? I can't remember the exact codes the scanner read but I plan on going to autozone later today to have them scan it again. Also, my CEL does not reset when you remove the battery and the previous owner had a new computer put in for whatever reason. I did a "PCM RESET" earlier today and the CEL still did not reset. Any ideas?

what year is it? I have had a few in the shop over the years that the problem was too much resistance through the plug, replaced with pigtail repair kit, all better.

I'm at autozone and I tried to get the codes read off the CEL and now it says that the computer is failing to communicate with the scanner??? So basically no codes can be displayed even though the light is on. A little earlier I disconnected the 4 O2 sensors and found that my hesitation on hard acceleration which feels like a surging while picking up speed seemed to go away. Also when I had all 4 disconnected something else happened, my blower stopped working but compressor would still work, my power windows didn't work and the ABS light turned on.

I typed that into the autozone website. Looks like I would have to order it and it's $37. I wonder if this could be my problem. Or maybe a bad O2?
