Default Changed wheel hub, death wobble nearly gone... but...

I've had some pretty bad DW at times when on the highway, I'd be making a left hand curve and hit a bump. It would just go nuts.

Also, between 40-50mph, I'd get some pretty bad shaking at times, but it wouldn't usually result in full on DW, save for one time I hit a bump at the exact moment the shaking started and it just went nuts, again.

I knew my driver's side wheel hub was howling a bit, but it wasn't loose and didn't appear to be in bad enough shape that there was any play in the bearing.

Anyway, I replaced it, and the 40-50mph shaking is completely gone, though it sometimes shimmies a bit when I hit the brakes at around that speed - very rarely, though. It also doesn't wobble when hitting bumps on the highway anymore.

I'm confused though... there's no way my death wobble could have been all related to a worn bearing, could it? Like I said it didn't feel loose or anything, but it would howl a bit. Not even BAD howling, it was just enough to be obvious that it was bad.

Of course, I'm not complaining, I just wonder if maybe something else is going on and it's a total coincidence.

I just replaced steering stabilizer after DW. Old one was empty.
Paid $28 from Advance auto. They ripped me off, I know. I am sure I could drive one more year before completely loosing control of my Jeep.
I could invest $28 in stock market and make millions!

That didn't fix your death wobble, you covered up the problem with that steering stabilizer.

OP, what else have you replaced/checked? A wobble or shimmy can be caused by 10-15 things in the front end. And yes, a bad wheel hub/bearing could be one of those things
