I've read in the FSM that if you hear the sound during coasting the it is a front pinion bearing. So i guess that is what i have. Does anybody know what is the front pinion bearing code,as i would like to be prepared before opening the diff.

First thing would be to wiggle the yoke where it goes into diff case to see if it is worn.

Are you sure it's not a bushing?

I bought 2 liters of mobil 80W-90, opened the 8.25 chrysler diff cover and drained the oil. It was as viscous as honey. I flushed the diff housing and gears with brake parts cleaner. I cleaned all the parts with a tissue then i closed the cover with an RTV gasket. Then filled it with the new oil. The clunking sound is much lower than before but it is still there

U-bolts tight?
Are the leaf spring bushings deteriorated?
It's weird for a gear set or bearing to "clunk", universal joint maybe.

I pulled the rear drive shaft out and greased the splines and the sound didn't disappear either. I revised the rear drive shaft angle and found it waaaayyyyy wrong, so i went for a t-case drop until the t-case out ut shaft is parallel to the diff yoke and guess what, the clunk has gone for ever except for a slight vibration above 110 km/hr comes when i press the gas pedal and goes when i depress it (comes only under load above 110km/hr), however the clunking has disappeared.

Default Finally solved

i've adjusted the front drive shaft angle and it solved the vibration issue..and now no cluncks and no vibrations, thanks a lot for your support.
