Default charging

guys, I was driven the jeep home three days ago, headlights went dim and she started cutting in and out, shut the headlights off ran smooth till tha battery died, so I put an Alternator on it, went and pulled the post off the battery and it died, so I go and put another altinator on it and the same thing, what should I look for guys im stuck...thanks for any help

That may have been OK on a 1950 vehicle, but modern vehicles with computers don't like it when you do such things.

Yeah, our XJ's just won't run right (or hardly at all) if you don't have good connections. You can't unhook the negative terminal to see if the alternator is working. It just won't work on our XJ's. Just take the alternator to a shop and have it tested.
