Question Cheap Mud Tires?

I need new tires....Bad
I am looking for cheap mud tires. My Cherokee doesn't get driven much. The tires would need to hold up on the highway though.
I have been looking at the Dunlop M/T and here recently the General Grabber M/T's
Any one have experience with these two brands?
Any suggestions for a set of 4 mud tires that won'd break the bank?
The size I am looking for is 31"x10.5x15
Thanks

Dunlop have thin sidewalls and are easily punctured by sticks or rocks.

My next set of tires will most likely be Tread Wright 33x12.50s....if they are actually close to the right height.
The new lookalike MTR tread 33x12.50s will be for sale in June 09.

MudKing are good, Mastercraft also makes some nice ones as well. When you look at them look at the actual overall diameter because not all 31's are the same. Some are actually closer to a 30" tire then a 31".

Mud kings are a great cheap tire, they last supprisingly long on tread life. However, if your simply looking for the cheapest go with treadwrite. A lot of guys have been running them resently and I have not heard anything bad about them. I'll probably be picking me up some of the new 33X12.50's in June when they come out, as long as they keep getting positive feed back.

Before I am sold on the treadwrights I want to see some folks run them for a year or so and actually wheel em and see how they hold up. They look good and are cheap but no one has any data on how long they last compared to new tires.

There are some long term tests on the interwebs, not a lot, but enough that convinced me when I purchased them. I had been reading/researching them for a few months before I decided to do it.

Were these folks using them in offroad conditions or just on road driving? I have done some searching in google but have yet to find any long term users who wheeled the tires..

Define "Cheep"...

I run Dakota M/T's. I know that they do not have the greatest side walls, but I do not do much rocks, and they have done real well for me so far. Been running them for over a year now.

I got them for $110 a piece, with a buy three get one free from Pepboys, which is the only ones that carry them. They are made by Cooper Tire for Pepboys as a shop brand and are very close to the Cooper STT design.

Just my 2 cents.
