Check Engine Light!

Check Engine Light!
I have a 99 cherokee sport and the other day I started her up and warmed it up for maybe 5 minutes, I drove about 2 miles and noticed my Check engine light was on, It was not on last time I drove it (the night before) and so I i was only a few miles from home so I figured I'd drive home and check my oil and troubleshoot, Then all of a sudden i started smelling it get hot so I pulled over and found antifreeze all over the axel, I had it towed back home and checked it out, The resivoir was full but the overflow was empty, I filled to line then let it run for 25 minutes and NO leaks anywhere, that was 3 days ago and still not a drip. But my Check Engine Light is still on, Orielly's Auto parts plugged it in and NO codes??? Same with carquest and Napa. I tried the ignition thing (on off three times) still did not read any codes. What is going on!?!? HELP!!!!

Can't read the codes with the ignition switch on a '99, only with a scanner.
The scanner should indicate "MIL ON" or off. (MIL- Check Engine light)
If it thinks the MIL is off, or the light stays on after resetting it with the scanner, you may have a wiring harness problem, although that isn't very likely. More likely there is a code thrown, or the PCM itself is acting up. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour or so then reconnecting & clearing the codes will reset it.
Are you saying the radiator was full but the overflow reservoir was dry? What does your temp gauge say when the engine is warmed up?

Before this happened, when was the last time you had checked the level in the coolant reservoir? You still likely have a leak and just haven't located it yet.
Does you have original radiator or water pump? If so, you are on borrowed time with both of them. The OEM factory radiators have plastic seams which often crack over time and can be hard to locate the leak on them when they first begin to fail. Also, have you checked for evidence of the water pump leaking out of the "weep hole"?
Along with the above two components, it is also a good time to evaluate all other parts of your cooling system. Radiator cap, thermostat, hoses.

My Radiator Was full and my overflow was mid way, I filled the overflow to full and it hasn't lost a drop since, I disconnected my battery and the light came off but sure enough she came back on, I took it back to Car Quest and it still said no codes but they were able to clear the light, That was 2 days ago and it hasn't come on yet.
