Checked my jeep and the tranny lines look a little banged up and one is leaking. Can I cut that part out and put a rubber house and clamp on as a temporary fix. I don't want to put new lines on till I get my lift otherwise I'll be bending them too

Yes you can, just be sure hose is rated for transmission fluid. If the hose is just slid on the metal line, without adding a bubble flare or similar, I use two small hose clams on each side.
Be sure not to get the slightest of metal shavings lost inside the line, it's best to use a small plumbers pipe cutter.

Exactly right, and don't lose any sleep over it. That will hold it for years.


Well, except for one small change - use hose clamps instead of hose clams. The clams work really well, but PETA gets upset about it.

^ Correct, these clams I harvested did not work well for hose line, but very well on the barbecue.

Lol, my transmission is definitely needing replacement anyways but I'll be careful. Thanks guys
