Cherokee engine fuel rail leak
Newbie here, any help would be appreciated.
I bought an Jeep Wrangler YJ with an upgraded 4 litre Cherokee engine( pic attached) + ( no idea what year the engine is from though). The connection to the fuel line is leaking when I press the pedal ( pic attached, i have already removed the little washer). I believe its the connection only thats faulty BUT have no idea what part to buy. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what is leaking, or if you have 3/8 or 5/16 inch connector there so you need to measure
Dorman makes all sorts of these fittings and replacement parts, be it new seals, or male end or female end of connector. many autopart stores sell these bits locally, or you can mail order from Jegs, Summit, Amazon, Parts Geek, RockAuto, etc....
you should measure diameter of tube so you get the correct size. either 3/8 or 5/16 inch being most common.

You will need to remove the plastic piece still on the rail and any remaining seals from both the rail and the inside the line. The repair package looks like this (yours may be a different color)
Insert into the line first until it fully seats, then remove the white plug. Then push the line onto the rail. You may feel and hear it snap into place.

I ordered this one

Im so glad you explained, many thanks. Didnt know the process at all..
I push everything into the fuel line and then remove the middle white part and then click/push back onto the fuel rail.. Seems pretty straight forward when you know how LOL
A massive thank you

Further problem!
Rob,
after finally installing the new part (which is not leaking) I noticed two further parts now leaking fuel. I dont know if I needed to bleed something before installing the new piece or what!
Perhaps you can identify what th parts are or help in any way. One leak is near the front of block and other is at th back.. Pics attached

Those you have circled now are the fuel injectors. They seal with o rings both where the rail connects to the injector and where the injector seals to the intake.
These are the ones I used on my XJ with the 4.0. The engine was a 97 installed in my 96 XJ.
Hopefully some of the guys will correct my post if I am wrong on the o rings.

Thanks for the reply. Now that I know what the part is thats leaking, I did a quick google.
This is an interesting read that strongly suggest that just replacing the O Rings might not be the best of ideas. https://www.onallcylinders.com/2015/...uel-injectors/
Whereas I would love to just replace these due to the financial benefit it seems I should replace the injectors. Any thoughts on this? Mnay thnaks

1. injector body maybe cracked or seam between plastic and metal failed.
2.. injector to fuel rail seal has failed.
dry it off and have helper fire up the fuel pump as you closely observe the leak area. and/ or remove and inspect injector to fuel rail seal, and inspect injector body for cracks. good luck

Rob,
thanks for the suggestions. Seems the injectors are gone. So I am in the process of sourcing 6 of them. I also finally identified the engine (MX)
