Default Cherokee with a miss?

I'm looking to get another cherokee and found a pretty nice 1999 with the 4.0 andk 95k but supposedly had a pretty bad miss, its only $1200, but anyone have an issue like this, i wouldn't mind spending some money to get it running good since its so cheap, but do you think that a miss is a fixable thing or something that needs a new motor?
Thanks!

I would bring a compression tester and check the compression in all cylinders

Be sure to perform the compression test accordingly so you can scan those parts of the engine which are wearing out...
