Cherokee stalling, now wont start!
Ive got a 96 country that has been driving fine til about 5 days ago. It stalled while driving, then started right back up and drove home. Next day did same thing, started up fine again. Later that same day same thing. Well it did it more and more til this morning wouldnt start back up. Seems like its not getting fuel. RPM's would drop to 0 then bounce back up mid driving. or drop to 0 and stall.
Fuel pump/ filter???
Any ideas??
Thanks

I agree that something with the crankshaft position sensor circuit might be in play here.
Here is a thread that gets into this more comprehensively.... Hope this helps.

Sounds like this is one of those crap shoots - it's either the CPS or the fuel pump is failing.
I have heard the CPS is cheap...and it sure is easier to change than the fuel pump.

You can test it for resistance values, but it would need to be tested when the vehicle is symptomatic, otherwise it might test okay.
If you pulled it out, you may as well install a new one.

Be sure to let us know how it goes.
My hunch is that this will fix it.
