I have a Cherokee xj 2.5tdi with an electronic fuel Diesel pump and I have a problem with the oil pressure. When the engine is turned on in the cold,it maintains normal oil pressure,but when it heats up,the oil pressure drops to zero (the engine is idling). When I turn off the engine and start it again after a few minutes the oil pressure is about 1 to 1 and a half psi. The engine has about 300000km and I have no problems with it. It consumes half a liter of oil per 10000km and the operating temperature is between 80 and 90 degress Celsius and does not consume water. Tnx for help...

This is a problem that happens with gas motors too. With that many miles, if you are running low viscosity oil this is just about guaranteed to happen. If you don't want to change viscosity, you can add a product called Power Punch. I don't know if you can get it where you are, but common in parts stores here. It is a high pressure/low friction additive that the company claims does not change the viscosity. It has been a standby longer than any other oil additive I know of.

It now has 10w40 oil, do you have a recommendation for another oil or to buy an additive.

The only one I will stand by is the Power Punch. Used in lots of diesel engines here in the states
